Pour ce faire, il faut contacter Engie ou l’un de ses concurrents (Eni, Antargaz ou même EDF) muni d’une facture de l’ancien logement et des données concernant le nouveau.

L’activation du compteur gaz revient à signer un contrat de gaz auprès d’un fournisseur d’énergie. Qu’importe le prestataire choisi pour le contrat, la mise en route de l’alimentation est indispensable pour avoir accès au gaz domestique et est effectuée par GRDF.

Une fois votre offre sélectionnée, votre fournisseur aura besoin de quelques éléments pour valider le contrat :

  • vos informations personnelles et l’adresse postale précise du logement ;
  • les détails du logement (surface, état de l’isolation, usages du gaz, etc.) ;
  • le nom de l’ancien locataire si vous le connaissez. Cela aidera à identifier précisément la ligne à activer ;
  • le numéro de Point de Comptage d’Estimation (ou PCE) associé au compteur de gaz ;
  • une relève de consommation de gaz pour que le fournisseur sache quand commencer la facturation ;
  • un moyen de paiement, de préférence un RIB ;

Frais et délais d’ouverture du compteur de gaz

Les frais de mise en service doivent être payés par le locataire (s’il y en a un), contrairement à la pose d’un compteur que doit payer le propriétaire. Selon l’urgence de la situation, des prix différents sont prévus par le gestionnaire de réseau.

Engie a fortement digitalisé ses services, et propose aujourd’hui plusieurs moyens de le joindre sur internet :

  • le fournisseur soigne sa réputation en ligne et a donc une présence développée sur les réseaux sociaux. Il est donc facile d’y obtenir une réponse rapide, notamment sur Facebook et Twitter ;
  • Gaz de France (désormais Engie) met à disposition de ses clients un espace sécurisé qui contient les informations importantes et permet de poser des questions par écrite ;
  • le site internet du fournisseur contient un formulaire de contact utilisable par tous pour poser une question par mail ;

Même si celles-ci sont moins utilisées qu’avant, Engie propose à ses clients plusieurs adresses. Chaque adresse répond à une fonction particulière :
